Consultation of Flintshire Childcare Sufficiency Assessment 2022-2026 Under the Childcare Act 2006 (Local Authority Assessment) (Wales) Regulations 2016, Flintshire County Council is required to secure sufficient childcare for children from birth to 14 (or up to 18 in the case of children with additional learning needs/disabilities) to meet the requirements of parents/carers. As part of this duty, Flintshire County Council has prepared a draft Childcare Sufficiency Assessment (CSA) report which details key findings, a gaps analysis and overview of the current childcare market across the county. This includes details around population statistics, as well as the results from surveys conducted with childcare providers, parents/carers, employers, stakeholders and children and young people.
